Whirlwind Tour of The Louvre

Posteed Thursday, July 23, 2009 - on a train somewhere between Paris & Amsterdam

We were up and out of our B&B early - it would be unimaginable to leave Paris without having seen The Louvre and Notre Dame.

With over 4 miles of art, sculpture, jewels, etc. spread over 4 floors and many city blocks, it was absolutely impossible to tour the entire Louvre in just the few hours that had been alloted. We searched out the 'Mona Lisa' as did many others.

Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa' - guarded by 4 security guards.

Ginny by the painting of 'David and Goliath'

Resembles the Arc de Triomph - in the courtyard of the Louvre.

Ginny & Bob - beside one of the Pyramids in the courtyard of the Louvre.

I finally made it to the Louvre!!

It would be impossible to post everything that we saw or of which we took photos. Just know that this is a huge, amazing place - full of everything imaginable. I made a promise (to myself) that I would return someday -----with more time!!
