Back-packs and us, waiting for another train!
Train stations in Europe are the equivalent of airports in the USA. My experience with trains had never extended beyond a few short day trips. The three of us have now become quite the 'riders of the rail'.
The train from Paris to Amsterdam was quite nice - complete with food, wine, WiFi, etc. - but the overnight accommodations from Amsterdam to Munich topped everything. We had private rooms, on the top deck of a double decker car, complete with sitting area and shower - champagne as we departed and breakfast served "en suite" before we arrived in Munich.
