This is another view of The Duomo (The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and of Giotto's Bell Tower, which was begun in 1334.
We elected not to climb the more than 400 steps to get to the top of the tower.
It is impossible to describe, with pictures, the beauty of these structures. We were very happy that we had visited the Cathedral yesterday. Today, the area was being barricaded and police were beginning to gather inside the barricade. Where is Obama??
